Swoosh

This week has been interesting.

Michael has had concussion-like symptoms for a few days again, so I finally got him to make appointments to get checked out. He actually still hadn't gotten the official prognosis on his knee from his car accident back in September. So, over the next week, he'll be going to the dermatologist, the neurologist, and back for a second MRI-this one on his head. The one he had Tuesday was for his knee.

We went into Flushing, and upon arrival, the receptionist asked if he was claustrophobic, as well as other routine MRI questions (I had mine a few years ago, so I've been through this process already). He went into the screening room, and I sat down to wait. Shortly after, a tech came rushing out. He stammered, "Uh, we'll be needing to have him sit outside for a few more minutes, perhaps you would sit with him?" Michael came out, looking rather sheepish. I asked him what had happened-more specifically, did he punch the machine. (Michael has tourettes, and when he gets anxious, he punches inanimate objects.) He looked down and kind of mumbled, "Uh. no, but I did lift it up." Yeah, that's right, from inside the MRI machine he started to panic and actually started to lift it up while declaring that they had to let him out! The doctor came out a minute later and gave him a pill that made him really relaxed for the rest of the evening. After that, everything was fine. Hahaha.

Then, last night, I came home and thought I'd read a little bit while sitting out on our balcony. Once, I had let Sydney come out with me, but it made me quite nervous. This time, though, she was looking all forlorn and sad at me through the door. Then, Michael came to the door and started looking all forlorn and sad at me. He told me I should let her try again and let her sit with me. I agreed, and opened the sliding glass door for her. She immediately RAN through the bars on the balcony railing and into-holy crap-the neighbors' open balcony door!! We tried calling her, but she didn't come back. Michael ran to the neighbors', while I continued to call her. Finally, she flew back to our house, all puffed up.

Turns out the neighbor has a dog.

It'll be a long time before SHE goes out again.

Finally, for those of you who might be keeping track, next week marks month 5 of being pregnant. We have two doctor's appointments: one on Tuesday at the hospital for the 20-week sonogram, where we should find out (if the baby cooperates) whether it will be Mikayla Jordan or Jensen Michael. On Wednesday, we go to the regular doctor for the routine checkup. I am starting to feel little swooshes and turns inside, but nothing that registers on the outside for anyone else to feel. I'm guessing that little kicks won't be far behind!!
