Almost done

Wow, the last few weeks have been full of things to do!

I started a mini-mester class early on in June, which means that the entire class is finished and done with in a total of about 3 and a half weeks. Unfortuately, in order to finish that fast, I have to commute 4 nights a week and do a semester's worth of reading and 5 small papers and a larger paper as a final, also all in 3 and a half weeks!

Memorial Day weekend was wonderful. All of us (me, Michael, and mom and dad's sides of the family) had dinner in Rhinebeck, and a barbeque at Grandma and Aunt Susan's. Michael and I found a wonderful place to stay, and through a luck-of-the-draw situation, we got a fabulous suite at nearly half the listed price. We spent the evening in the parlor having a drink and looking at the wedding albums from receptions that had been staged there. It's not certain, but we're thinking maybe next July we'll be having our own there...

Thursday the 9th was a holiday here (Brooklyn/Queens annviversary day), and Michael helped me take Lena to the vet (she was sneezing and her eye got watery) and then, after medicating the cat, bought and installed air conditioning into the apartment, saw Star Wars, (which was much better than I had anticipated), had dinner at a nice cafe, then went home.

Last week I chaperoned the 8th grade prom, which was actually really fun. All of the kids looked fantastic and, thankfully, there were no problems with behavior or anything like that.

Then, on Friday, Michael and I chaperoned the Senior Trip to Hershey Park in PA. (There were other teachers there, of course, we just got to be on the same bus for the nearly 6 hour round trip.)

On Saturday, we had planned to spend the rest of the weeknd hanging out in Boston, but after our 11 o'clock arrival home the night before, we decided to spend the day exploring Manhattan instead. We went shopping at the Levi's store, prayed at 5th Ave Presbyterian, looked at the Gap, walked through Chinatown, had dinner at Wo Hop 17, then cheesecake in Little Italy, complete with a new Lamborghini parked on the street next to us (wish I'd had my camera!) and finally, a nightcap at a cute little bar on the edge of the Village.

Overall, things have been hectic....I haven't falled off the face of the earth or anything!
